Georgia State University has implemented an artificial intelligence-powered chatbot called “Pounce” to support students through the critical transition from admission to enrollment. The chatbot answers questions about financial aid, registration and deadlines, while also sending proactive reminders to help students complete required steps. The tool extends assistance beyond traditional office hours and reduces the need for students to navigate complex processes on their own. Georgia State reports a substantial reduction in “summer melt,” with more admitted students successfully enrolling. Rather than replacing human support, Pounce ensures that students receive the right information at the right time – helping more of them make it to the starting line.
