Who Can Apply: The Kevin A. Hill Scholarship was created to benefit Graduate students in the Department of Political Science and International Relations who are enrolled in a course of study with a focus on American Politics. Professor Kevin Hill was a professor of Political Science in FIU for twenty four years with a passion for American Government particularly Southern Politics and Florida politics. Although Professor Hill began his career as an Africanist, he will be remembered for his unique ability to analyze the complexities of American political behavior which inspired many students throughout his career.
- Be in good academic standing in the Political Science Ph.D. program (minimum 3.0 GPA), and
- Plan on taking, or have already taken, the first field American Politics comprehensive exam.
- Students must be US Citizens or Permanent residents with an aid eligible visa
Submission: Applicants will submit a 1-page research travel proposal that details: (1) the research-related nature and purposes of the travel, (2) a brief overview of the research project, and (3) how the travel will help them improve the quality of their research project. Students must apply through AcademicWorks and notify the Graduate Program Director (via email) that an application has been submitted.
