University’s Learning Management System Upgrade to Blackboard Ultra Begins
What You Need to Know
The University is excited to share that upgrades to Blackboard Learn have begun, and before 2026 is over, all students will be using Blackboard Ultra for their courses. This upgrade offers a cleaner, more modern design that makes it easier to stay organized, keep track of due dates, and navigate your courses.
Select Undergraduate courses and all Graduate courses will use Blackboard Ultra for the terms beginning in January 2026.
In late-summer 2026, all courses (Undergraduate and Graduate) will transition to and use Blackboard Ultra.
While there are some changes to the course navigation, accessing courses through the Student Portal will remain the same. Additionally, each Blackboard Ultra course homepage includes a Student Quick Start Guide, which we encourage you to review at the start of your course to become familiar with the new layout.
Online students should contact student success advising at 203.568.1652, and Main Campus students should visit the Advising Office in Hess Hall Room 203 with any questions or assistance needed navigating courses in Blackboard Learn and/or Blackboard Ultra.
