Who Can Apply: This renewable scholarship was established to support a freshman with a strong academic record dedicated to pursue medical school upon graduation from SUNY Brockport.
- have been accepted for admission as an incoming, first time freshman into any academic program,
- apply in their first year of study – the application includes a personal statement of the applicant’s motivation to become a physician, relevant experiences in the medical system, participation in service activities, leadership roles,
- possess a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher at the end of their first year,
- successfully complete BIO 201 & BIO 202 and CHM 205 and CHM 206 by end of freshman year,
- be registered for two of the following courses in the fall semester of their sophomore year – BIO 302, CHM 305, and PHS 205 or PHS 235.
The scholarship will not be awarded until freshman year grades are posted. Should the student be no longer eligible for this scholarship, eligible rising sophomores will be considered by the Pre-Professional Health Program.
Submission: Please provide a 500 word statement that addresses your motivation to become a physician, relevant experiences in the medical system (if any), and participation in service activities and leadership roles.
