You are here: / / Emerging Black Technologists Scholarship (Deadline: June 11, 2026)
Who Can Apply:
- High-demand fields like computer science, information systems, software engineering, cybersecurity, data science, artificial intelligence, robotics, information technology management, and related STEM pathways are crucial to innovation around the world.
- However, financial inaccessibility and the lack of representation in STEM fields can affect the experiences of Black students pursuing STEM majors and can even impact their long-term career mobility. When underrepresentation persists, it affects the experiences of students for generations to come, as a lack of mentors and a feeling of isolation can make STEM feel like the wrong choice.
- This scholarship seeks to support the next generation of African American innovators entering the technology sector and help them make their voices heard.
- Any African American high school senior who has been accepted by an HBCU for the upcoming year may apply for this scholarship opportunity if they’re pursuing technology or another STEM-related field and if they have community service experience, extracurricular involvement, or leadership experience.
Submission: To apply, tell us about your interest in technology, your career ambitions, how you plan to advance African American representation in technology, and which HBCU you plan to attend. Additionally, upload an image of a project that you’ve completed that shows your creative side in tech.
