Dean Kim Nerud of American Sentinel College of Nursing & Health Sciences at Post University was featured in Modern Healthcare on the important subject of strengthening the nurse educator pipeline during National Nurses Month.
Her column, “The nurse educator shortage threatens the future of the workforce,” published on May 25, explores how to support nurses who can educate others and how critical that role is to meet the growing workforce demand.
“The nursing shortage is not solved simply by recruiting more nurses,” Dr. Nerud writes. “It’s about educating more of them. And right now, the system is constrained at that critical point. Expanding how and where we educate nurses is the key to strengthening the workforce for the future.”
