Description: The Charles LeGeyt Fortescue Scholarship is awarded annually for one year of full-time graduate work in electrical engineering at an engineering school of recognized standing located in the US. To be eligible, the student must have received a bachelor’s degree from an engineering college of recognized standing. The scholarship will be awarded to a first-year graduate student pursuing a Master’s degree program (or a doctoral degree program if it is the first graduate degree for the student). In the event the college is conducting a combined B.S. and M.S. degree program, the student in the penultimate year would be eligible for the award, which would apply in the final year of the program. Richard A. Herbert Memorial Scholarship:

Description: The Richard A. Herbert Memorial Scholarship was established to honor Richard A. Herbert, a champion for water resources education, who passed away in 1994. Applicants must be an AWRA member and must be enrolled for the full 2025-2026 academic year (Fall/Spring semesters or Fall/Winter/Spring quarters). At least one $2,000 scholarship will be awarded to an undergraduate student working toward their first undergraduate degree, and at least one $2,000 scholarship will also be awarded to a graduate student enrolled in a program relating to water resources. The undergraduate scholarship will be awarded to the student member most qualified by academic performance. Measures of academic performance include the cumulative grade point average, relevance of the student’s curriculum to water resources, and leadership in extracurricular activities related to water resources. The graduate scholarship will be awarded to the student member most qualified by academic and/or research performance. The measures of academic performance are identical to those of the undergraduate scholarship with the addition of the quality of the student’s research and its relevance to water resources. Ken Inouye Memorial Scholarship:

Description: The Ken Inouye Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a college journalist of color and is aimed at increasing ethnic diversity in newsrooms. Ken Inouye was a 22-year-old cameraman for the International News Service, covering the Korean War, when he was killed aboard an Army aircraft. Students from Los Angeles, Orange and Ventura counties who have completed at least their freshman year of college, as well as graduate students from those same counties, are eligible to apply for all scholarships. Students enrolled in college in another state who have graduated high school in Los Angeles, Orange or Ventura counties may also apply. Applicants must submit proof of enrollment or acceptance in a journalism program at a two-year or four-year college or university. Students completing pre-journalism programs must provide proof they have been admitted to a journalism program. Students must have completed at least their freshman year in college and have at least one semester to complete in a journalism program after the award of the scholarship. Description: The Helen Johnson Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a college student pursuing broadcast journalism. This award honors the late Helen Johnson, a producer of “Channel 4 News Conference” and an associate producer of “Meet the Press.” Students from Los Angeles, Orange and Ventura counties who have completed at least their freshman year of college, as well as graduate students from those same counties, are eligible to apply for all scholarships. Students enrolled in college in another state who have graduated high school in Los Angeles, Orange or Ventura counties may also apply. Carl Greenberg Memorial Scholarship:

Description: The Carl Greenberg Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a college student pursuing investigative or political reporting. Carl Greenberg was a political reporter at the Los Angeles Times, famed for being singled out by Richard Nixon as the only reporter who covered him “fairly.” Students from Los Angeles, Orange and Ventura counties who have completed at least their freshman year of college, as well as graduate students from those same counties, are eligible to apply for all scholarships. Students enrolled in college in another state who have graduated high school in Los Angeles, Orange or Ventura counties may also apply. Bill Farr Memorial Scholarship:

Description: The Bill Farr Memorial Scholarship is awarded to high school seniors or college students who demonstrate a strong intent to pursue a career in journalism. Students from Los Angeles, Orange and Ventura counties who have completed at least their freshman year of college, as well as graduate students from those same counties, are eligible to apply for all scholarships. Students enrolled in college in another state who have graduated high school in Los Angeles, Orange or Ventura counties may also apply. High School seniors from Los Angeles, Orange and Ventura counties are eligible to apply for the Bill Farr Memorial Scholarship. Applicants must submit proof of enrollment or acceptance in a journalism program at a two-year or four-year college or university. Edmund F. Maxwell Foundation Scholarship:
Amount: $5,000
Closing Date: May 9, 2026
Description: The Edmund F. Maxwell Foundation Scholarship was established to assist high school seniors from Western Washington in obtaining a higher education. Applicants must have attended the last two years of high school (or homeschool) and lived in a location west of the Cascade Mountains. This award has the potential to be renewed for up to an additional three years of undergraduate education based on reasonable progress toward graduation. A simple renewal application is required each year. Applicants must be pursuing post-secondary education at a private college or university. Applicants must submit their transcript on May 23, 2025. It is optional for 2025 but highly recommended for students to also provide their Standardized Test Scores with their transcript. Scholarships will generally be limited to entering freshmen, with combined math and reading or writing SAT scores of 1200 or higher (or ACT composite scores of over 26). Description: The American Legion Auxiliary Department of Arizona will accept applications for assistance to students pursuing a career in Health Care Occupations. The applicant must be enrolled or enrolling in an accredited, tax-supported institution in Arizona which offers a certificate or degree program in Health Care Occupations; such as Nurses Assistant, Dental Assistant, L.P.N., Lab Technician, Physical Therapist, Inhalation therapist, etc. Applicants must be a resident of Arizona for at least one year. Second Year Nursing Scholarship:

Description: The Second Year Nursing Scholarship will be awarded annually to not less than a second year student nurse who is enrolled in an accredited institution awarding a degree as a Registered Nurse. The immediate family members of a Veteran will be given first preference. Applicants must be a resident of Arizona for at least one year. Applicants must be enrolled in a second year or advanced nursing program as an upper division student and carry the required hours of work with a grade average of “C” or better. Former recipients continuing degree program in nursing (R.N., B.A., M.A.) shall be given first consideration provided the applicant complies with aforementioned rules. Three letters of reference from persons who can testify to the applicant’s character, study and work habits are required. NMCRS Education Assistance Program:
Amount: $500 – $3,000

Description: The NMCRS Education Assistance Program is designed to help eligible Navy and Marine Corps families pursue their academic goals by providing scholarships and interest-free loans. Awards are provided based on the applicant’s financial need, and in accordance with policies established by the Society’s Board of Directors. Scholarships and interest-free education loans are awarded once per academic year. Scholarships range from $500-$3000 and loans are available up to $4000. Students may reapply each year. Those who may apply are children of active duty, retired or qualifying deceased Sailors and Marines. They must be under age 23 by September 30 of the current academic year. Applicants may also be surviving children of Sailors and Marines who passed on active duty or after retirement; spouses of active duty or retired Sailors and Marines; or active duty Sailor or Marine enrolled in a MECEP/MECP program is eligible for the loan. Description: The Scholarship Incentive Program will be awarded to students enrolled or will enroll full-time in an undergraduate degree program at an accredited institution in Delaware; or to students enrolled or who will enroll full-time in an out-of-state, accredited institution in an undergraduate or graduate degree program that is not offered at the University of Delaware, Delaware State University, or Delaware Technical Community College. High school seniors may apply. For students attending Delaware district or charter high schools, the Delaware Higher Education Office will access your 9th through 11th grade unweighted cumulative GPA and SAT scores through eSchool. For home-schooled students or students attending private high schools in Delaware, please send a copy of your SAT scores and your 9th through 11th grade high school transcript showing your unweighted cumulative GPA. Minors, non-degree, diploma, certificate, or continuing education programs are not eligible. Wesley-Logan Prize in African Diaspora History:

Description: The Wesley-Logan Prize in African diaspora history is jointly administered by the American Historical Association and the Association for the Study of African American Life & History. The prize is awarded annually for an outstanding book in African diaspora history. The prize is offered for a book on some aspect of the history of the dispersion, settlement and adjustment, and/or return of peoples originally from Africa. Eligible for consideration are books in any chronological period and any geographical location. Only books of high scholarly and literary merit will be considered. Books with a copyright of 2025 are eligible for the 2026 award. Nomination submissions may be made by an author or by a publisher. Publishers may submit as many entries as they wish. Description: The Montana Federation of Garden Clubs, Inc. awards the Montana Life Members Scholarship to a student who majors in Conservation, Horticulture, Parks or Forestry, Floriculture, Greenhouse Management, Land Management or related subjects. Chopin Foundation Scholarship Program for Young American Pianists:
Amount: $500 – $1,000

Description: The purpose of the Chopin Foundation Scholarship Program is to support and encourage young, talented American pianists through up to four years of preparation for the National Chopin Piano Competition of the United States, which is held in Miami, Florida, every five years. Renewable scholarships are awarded each year on a competitive basis to outstanding young American pianists who demonstrate a special affinity for the interpretation of Frederic Chopin’s music. In addition, the Scholarship Committee may grant half-awards in the amount of $500 to qualified applicants. A half-award may be granted to an applicant only once during the four-year program. Two recommendations from piano teachers or professional piano performers must be submitted. Applicants must also submit an unedited video of them performing Chopin’s works. Optimist International Oratorical Contest:
Amount: $1,000 – $15,000

Description: The Optimist International Oratorical Contest is designed for youth to gain experience in public speaking, perfect self-expression, gain self-assurance, improve communication skills, and provide them with the opportunity to compete for a college scholarship. Interested youth should prepare a 4-5 minute speech on the topic: “How Optimism Has Guided Me Through Trying Times.” The contest is open to contestants under the age of 19 as of October 1st of the current Optimist International contest year. Club contest dates are set by the Club Chair, once the Zone and District dates have been obtained. Zone contest dates are set by the District Oratorical Chair with the Lieutenant Governors to occur prior to the District contest date. The District contest date is set by the District Chair. Wilma Hoyal-Maxine Chilton Memorial Scholarships:

Description: The Wilma Hoyal-Maxine Chilton Memorial Scholarships will be awarded to a student at eligible universities in Arizona enrolled as a second year or upper division student in Political Science, Public Programs or Special Education. Applicants must be a resident of Arizona for at least one year. Honorably discharged veterans or immediate family members of a veteran will be given preference. Applicants must complete at least 12 hours with a grade average of “B” or better. Three letters of reference from persons who can testify to the applicant’s character, aptitude, initiative, and need must be submitted. Dr. and Mrs. Gerald M. Kramer Scholar Award for Excellence:
Amount: $10,000

Description: The Dr. and Mrs. Gerald M. Kramer Scholar Award for Excellence will be awarded to third-year students as of the application deadline who are enrolled in an accredited U.S. periodontal graduate program and nominated by their periodontal program. The committee bases its selection on the applicant’s demonstrated personal motivation for excellence in both character and academic achievement. Personal integrity, as exemplified by leadership, community involvement, and concern for the needs of others, are also considered. The top three candidates must attend the AAP Annual Meeting for personal interviews. All finalists will be required to create a 10-15 minute presentation on the topic of their application and research for their interview. Sarah Bradley Tyson Memorial Fellowship:

Description: The Sarah Bradley Tyson Memorial Fellowship will be awarded annually to a post-baccalaureate, full-time graduate student who is studying, or will study, at an accredited institution in the United States and who wishes to pursue a career in agriculture, horticulture or related fields of study. Preference will be given to a candidate with a strong commitment to their chosen career path as evidenced through the candidate’s achievements and work-related, volunteer or other community activities. The fellowship recipient must submit a brief report detailing the results of their work at the end of each semester. Susan Anderson Memorial Scholarship:
Amount: $5,000
Closing Date: May 16, 2026
Description: The Susan Anderson Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to a deserving individual pursuing the Masters of Information Studies at the University of Ottawa, the Masters of Information at the University of Toronto, or the Masters of Library and Information Science at Western University. Award of the scholarship will be based on volunteerism, academic achievement, goals and personal qualities. References direct from two referees, describing the candidate’s activities and time commitment, must be submitted. One letter should focus on the applicant’s volunteerism and community service and the second email letter should focus on work experience. Oncology Nursing Foundation Research Grants:
Amount: $50,000 – $100,000
Closing Date: May 16, 2026
Description: The Oncology Nursing Foundation Research Grants will support rigorous scientific oncology nursing research for PhD prepared investigators. The Primary Investigator must be a registered oncology nurse actively involved in some aspect of cancer patient care, education, or research. The PI must be PhD prepared (only one PI can appear on the grant). There are three types of research grants. The RE03 General Topic Research Grant is intended for emerging to mid-career oncology nurse researchers who have not previously received and completed at least one research study with a funding level of $50,000 as the study principal investigator. Research projects may include investigator-initiated research, pilot or feasibility studies, supplements to currently funded projects, or developing a new aspect of a program of research. Funding preference is given to projects that involve nurses in the design and conduct of the research activity and that promote theoretically-based oncology practice. The RE33 General Topic Research Grant is intended for established oncology nurse researchers with a demonstrated funding history of at least $50,000 in prior research funding. Research projects may include investigator-initiated research, pilot or feasibility studies, supplements to currently funded projects, or developing a new aspect of a program of research. Funding preference is given to projects that involve nurses in the design and conduct of the research activity and that promote theoretically-based oncology practice. The Focused Research Grant: Oral Chemotherapy Adherence is intended for established oncology nurse researchers with a demonstrated funding history of at least $50,000 in prior research funding. Research projects must address oral chemotherapy adherence. The Letters of Intent (LOI) are due on May 16, 2024 and the full proposals are due on June 28, 2024.
