Post University marked its 2026 Lavender Ceremony with a powerful celebration of identity, resilience and achievement, honoring LGBTQ+ graduates and the community that supports them.
The event brought together students, faculty, staff and loved ones to recognize graduates’ academic success and personal journeys. Hosted by the Post’s LGBTQ+ Affinity Group and Lavender Society, the annual ceremony is celebrated alongside commencement each spring and reflects Post’s commitment to fostering a campus where all individuals feel respected and valued.
Speakers throughout the ceremony emphasized that for many LGBTQ+ students, higher education involves navigating identity alongside academics. Jesse Miller-Khodik, Post’s assistant program chair of psychology and the keynote speaker, encouraged graduates to view their accomplishment as a transition into leadership and impact.
“This is a milestone,” said Miller-Khodik. “Not just because of the degrees being awarded, but because of everything it took to get here—time, effort, persistence and commitment.”
The program included a moment of silence honoring the challenges LGBTQ+ individuals continue to face and reinforcing the importance of community and support. The ceremony concluded with the presentation of lavender stoles and certificates.
