Post University honored Waterbury’s top 100 high school juniors alongside the Waterbury Promise and the Waterbury School District on May 27.
Students, families and educators came together at Crosby High School to celebrate the academic achievements of some of the city’s most accomplished 11th grade students representing all six of Waterbury’s public high schools. The evening included a college fair and dinner, giving students and their families the opportunity to explore postsecondary options and connect directly with college representatives.
Post University, the primary sponsor of the event, celebrated the graduation of its first cohort of Waterbury Promise scholars this year. The Waterbury Promise scholarship, which provides eligible scholars with up to $20,000 in financial support to attend any accredited Connecticut-based college or university as a last dollar scholarship after all other financial aid has been applied.
“It was an honor to be part of such a special evening recognizing some of Waterbury’s brightest students,” said Jason Riendeau, Director of Main Campus Enrollment. “Post University is proud to support and celebrate these students and their outstanding achievements. The pride and excitement throughout the event was truly inspiring, and we would be thrilled to welcome any of these students to visit Post University in the future.”
